Cannibal Holocaust is not only one of the most misunderstood and under-appreciated horror movies, it is one of the best. Regardless of unfortunate choice of titles, this film offers so much more than conventional horror movies. This film is hard to stomach, and the violence is often so intense and real that this would never make it past US censors, but underneath the carnage is an allegory of give and take in nature. The story may seem senseless, and the directing aimless, but upon a second or third viewing, the slightest details begin to reveal themselves, shedding a new light on the film. Regardless of the viewer's perception of the quality of the film, one thing is always consensus: this is an intense film. Even for the most violence-numbed people, the scenes of torture and cruelty can begin to take their toll; as if that wasn't enough, the extremely emotional score makes certain scenes almost not watchable.

Extreme Chickfights

There are approximately 8 or 9 fights on here. They’re real fights, including boxing matches, bare knuckle matches, and some allow the competitors to continue pummeling the opponent when they’re down. I think there were one or two girls in here that were actually attractive. Well, one at least. About three of the fights are fairly descent, three full rounds with a good amount of action. A couple of the fights end after one girl gets punched a few times and decides to quit. A few others are totally inexperienced girls flailing away at each other, completely unable to hurt each other, so they eventually become exhausted. One fight has a fat girl vs. two normal sized girls, and it’s like a fight from the Jerry Springer show. There are at least 5,000 punches thrown but they’re wearing padded headgear and nobody can hurt anybody. In one of the good fights, one of the girls gets her sports bra bulled up and you get to see, well, you know.

No one likes it when you give a bad review. If you're looking for the legacy of George Romero, look elsewhere. This film features characterizations and dialogue so lazy, uninteresting and shallow you really won't care if anyone dies or not, and there's not a sliver of irony to keep you interested otherwise. Ask yourself, "Would I sit through "Friday the 13th part 11?" That narrative is exactly what you'd expect from the title, but the constraints of being on an airplane apparently don't prohibit setting off bombs and having prolonged firefights with automatic weapons.
Why put them on a plane in the first place if there's no danger of a hull breach or decompression, or even a crash? If you're going to stave off farce you have to work creatively around the limitations of your setting; this is why the astronauts in space movies wear helmets, why submariners don't open the hatch of their submarine while submerged. "Dawn of the Dead" took place in a mall - did you see anyone in the mall flying helicopters or yachting? No, because you can't do that in a mall. That would more amazing than having zombies. If a film is too absurd and violates its own rules it ceases to be interesting; it has suddenly become manipulative in the EASIEST WAY POSSIBLE. You can't set off bombs in airplanes and shoot 100 rounds through the ceiling, simple.
