his version of Fraunhofer codec can be used instead of the LAME MP3 Encoder and according to some reviews produce a better quality MP3 files. Freeware programs like Audiograbber and CDex can use this codec to rip the CDs in high quality (up to 320 kbps). The codec works perfectly on Windows XP and Windows Vista (both Audiograbber and CDex run on Vista as well). Technically any application that uses internal codecs from Windows can benefit from using Fraunhofer for working with MP3 format.
The archive includes the codec and a short brochure about Fraunhofer being in the market of audio encoding for 20 years and mp3 codec itself. The booklet is in both German and English languages.
